I heard Beverley Jacobs (President of the Native Women's Association of Canada) speak yesterday. It was an amazing talk where I learned quite a bit and it was a very profound reiteration of the losses aboriginal women have endured throughout the centuries. But what i internalized was something she said about the positive uses for anger.
Anger has been something that as a woman has always been taught to me as a bad thing. I'm a bitch or a brat (depending on my age at the time) if I display sentiments of anger. As someone who has survived .... there has been quite a bit of anger in me over the years. But there is a lot that has come out (inappropriately at times) against something or someone else. And yet still most of it is still inside!
Now before I figure out how to positively use that anger I think some just cathartic venting would be nice. :)
